Julie and Sam Engagement
Posted by: conscious | Nov 28, 2007 (1:20 p.m.)
I had a wonderful engagement shoot with Sam and Julie Lohr on at the Palace of Fine Art in San Francisco. We enjoyed taking overly mushy lovey dovey shots of them frolicking in the columns and by the pond. We sat down to a picturesque picnic and wondered what it was like back in the early victorian century with all the ladies in their fancy sunday dresses and the men in their suits. Probably very different than things are now with people in their casual attire and digital cameras in hand!

I wrote an article that was published in the January 2008 issue of Studio Photography magazine:

It is a peer review article for Parade (my web developing/hosting company)! How exciting! These are the pictures I am submitted for the article. I am always glad to promote Parade, they have been an amazing company to work with...and I like to think my website looks great thanks to them!
My Sisters Wedding
Posted by: conscious | Sep 29, 2007 (8:53 p.m.)
I recently got to see my little sister Tahsa get married (and I didn't have to shoot it, PHEW!). It was an amazing day. No words can describe the increadible feeling of geting so see your family all together, your little sister looking more beautiful than you have ever seen, and to see an amazing connection of love between her and her new husband Jon. They are so perfect for each other. It's wonderful to see her actually with a counterpart. They definitely balance each other. Using photos of Tasha and her cake, I made these graphics for our long time family friend Christina Werner's new wedding planning website www.blissbrides.info
I look forward to following my sisters new life now that she is married...maybe she can give me some tips and tricks on how to make love work! :)

Emerald Earth and Heartland

Ecobuilding fun and permaculture lifestyles! How joyous!
During two back to back wedding weekends i got to spend some time at the Emerald Earth Sustainable living community in Booneville, CA near Hopland, CA. It's definitely a piece of green blissful heaven.
I helped them build a cobb/straw bale house and took a tour of their gardens. It was also a coincidental treat to get to visit my old friends Rain and Zephyr who live a hop skip and a jump away at the Heartland Community in Ukiah (near Hopland). They are building their own cobb/straw bale house and have been creating a permaculture lifestyle with a food forest and mostly perrennials garden.
Below is a picture of a dragon sculpture embedded into the wall of a cobb house at Emerald Earth. This technique is just one of the amazing things you can do with cobb to customize your home. It's an amazing substance..not to mention totally envionmentally friendly (saves trees) and non-toxic.
